Really cool piece. Toes the line of this is what we got vs what we are given isn't good enough. I was looking into her career a bit earlier today. Choosing Harris is definitely a statement from Biden. One must wonder if she was who he had in mind personally or if having her name on the ticket is all in the name of strategy.
We'll never know how Biden truly processed this decision. That said, I think the statement is important. Would have hoped that the ballot would feature more "actual" progressive thinkers. But, big business and election funders won't pay for a "far-leaning" thinker.
A woman I follow in the games industry, whom is also involved with prison reform, said (regarding Harris) something along the lines of "they put us in jail and call it progressive because they didn't give us the death penalty".
Harris is no saint, and obviously neither is Biden. It is, yet again, the lesser of two evils phenomenon. Frankly, we should all be sick of saying that phrase every four years. Elected officials aren't meant to be any level of evil. Corruption runs deeper than blood, sadly.
